Hello 25…

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” –Mark Twain

My 25th Birthday Celebration

Aren’t birthdays the best days? I see birthdays as an opportunity to start new. Every chapter in your life demands a new version of you and I personally believe this new version is created on your birthday. I am so excited for this new chapter in my life. These 25 years have been quite a journey, one that I am particularly proud of. However, you don’t live for 25 years without having the battle scars and lessons learned to prove it. So, with all these years of experience (I am getting old), I decided to disclose my findings.

  1. Be Kind.

It costs nothing to be kind and the world so desperately needs more of this right now. Thanking the bus driver, smiling at strangers, and holding the elevator for someone are ways you can display your kindness.

  1. Treat All People The Same.

Everyone is equal no matter the person’s race, ethnicity, gender, age, class, societal standings, etc. Rewire your brain to see no human hierarchy and you’ll see how much better you will treat others and the same will be reciprocated.

  1. Explore Everything You Possibly Could.

There is so much out there to do and see, so go out there and explore it. Try things that scare you, learn a new language, and tackle your bucket list because our time is limited.

  1. Fiercely Chase Your Dreams.

Life is too short to not go after what your heart truly desires. When it is all said and done, know you fought every day for the life you’ve always imagined.

  1. Accept letting people go.

Throughout life, people will come and go but the ones who are meant to be in your life, will come into your life and stay. From personal experience, don’t fight this process.

  1. Listen.

When communicating, listen to understand not to respond. So many misunderstandings could be easily resolved if all parties just listened. Respect all parties’ points of views.

  1. Live in the moment.

Appreciate and enjoy where you are in life. Let’s face it, the past is gone and the future hasn’t arrived yet. Living in the moment will allow you to maximize your time as well as live freely.

  1. Be yourself.

Never alter yourself to be similar to someone else. You are perfect just being you.

  1. Love yourself.

Self-love is the best love. Besides, you can’t fully love anyone else until you do.

  1. Life is beautiful.

Seize it and live it to the fullest.

I personally choose my birthday as a self-reflection day, but feel free to choose your own day to reflect and live your purpose. Use your experiences to evolve into the person you are truly meant to be. What are you waiting for?

Love the positive vibes, advice and words of wisdom you have! I have followed your blog! I’m 26 and can definitely relate to the advice you’ve given. Sooo true! Especially treating strangers well, that one is sadly not practiced as much as it’s preached. Nice post.

I love these, so inspiring. And I agree, treat everyone the same no matter what and be kind to everyone because you have no idea what that kindness means to the other person. Happy birthday, Katherine 🙂
